Mrs. Lerner (the mom of the girl I went to school with) and I went to Barra Shopping mall.
I bought a pair of shoes for my mom and for me. I also bought an imported Diet Coke and Diet Caffeine Free Coke to take to my mom in Bauru. We had been talking about Diet Soda, which didn't exist at the time in Brazil.
Sra Lerner (a mãe da menina que eu fui para a escola com) e eu fui para Barra Shopping. Eu comprei um par de sapatos para minha mãe e para mim. Eu também comprei uma Coca Diet e Coca Diet Livre de Cafeína para levar para minha mãe em Bauru. Nós estávamos conversando sobre o Diet Soda, que não existia na época no Brasil.
In the evening we went to a banquet at the Rio Yacht club. For $5 it was all you could eat or drink: brandy, wine, beer, soft drinks, scotch, salgodinhos, stroganoff, ham, turkey, fish, shrimp, salads and fruit. Then there was a samba show that was really good.
À noite fomos a um banquete no Iate Clube do Rio. Por US $ 5 era tudo o que se podia comer ou beber: conhaque, vinho, cerveja, refrigerantes, uísque, salgodinhos, estrogonofe, presunto, peru, peixe, camarão, saladas e frutas. Depois houve um show de samba que foi muito bom.
